Sigma DP2

New on the scene, the Sigma DP2 ($649) has the look and feel of a compact point and shoot but produces quality only found in today's SLR's. The 14-megapixel camera is packed with new technology from its full-scale sensor (about 7 times larger than a 1 - 1.8-inch sensor used in a conventional digital compact) to its integral lens and 3-layer direct image sensor, the DP2 might have give our bulky Nikon D40 some rest.
